The origins of tea and the heart of local tea culture in Northern Thailand, hmiang is the fermented tea made for eating. This tradition passed down by local communities in the mountains for centuries is unfortunately slowly fading away, and we at Monsoon Tea Company are doing our very best to keep it alive, preserving this ancient culture for future generations.
Each pack contains one bundle of fermented tea made for eating or cooking. There are no limits to your imagination when it comes to using the hmiang in various ways, and in our restaurant in Chiang Mai we for example make pastes and cook with it in all sorts of dishes!
